Challenge

The watch and jewellery industry is under growing pressure to accelerate sustainability efforts across climate action, nature conservation, and social equity. However, navigating complex regulations, improving transparency, and demonstrating measurable progress is challenging- especially for companies lacking the right tools and resources to do so efficiently and cost-effectively.

Solution

To tackle these challenges, the Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030 (WJI 2030) and ESG Book launched the Impact Action Journey Framework - a first-of-its-kind digital platform designed to accelerate sustainability progress across the industry. Introduced at the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, the framework was developed over 18 months in collaboration with experts, civil society, and financial institutions, ensuring a practical, industry-aligned approach.

The Outcome

The framework establishes a standardised disclosure baseline aligned with global standards like GRI, IFRS Sustainability, SBTi, and TNFD, while preparing companies for evolving regulations such as CSRD, SFDR, and CSDDD. By integrating ESG Book’s disclosure platform, businesses can now track and report progress in real time - enhancing accountability, regulatory readiness, and stakeholder trust.
